Falling Belief in Man-Made Global Warming

According to the American Spectator, there may be hope yet...

Bad news for environmental extremists. Despite control of the government and media, the alarmists are losing the battle for public support. Reports Rasmussen Reports:

Despite the rise in voters who say human activity is to blame, the overall results represent a complete reversal from a year ago, when 47% blamed human activity and only 34% blamed planetary trends. (more)

So...you're in the skeptic camp on climate change, then?

(Just asking.)

Otepoti- (since you asked:-) )
No, I do believe that climate changes. I am a weather forecaster. I have been for almost 25 years. But I am very skeptical about the idea that man has much, if anything, to do with it and the current discussions on "carbon footprints" and "cap and trade" are bogus attempts to insert politics (and quite a money making machine for some in the enviromentalist camp). Don't get me wrong, though, I think it important to take care of the environement. Ironically, I think the whole "global warming" now "climate change" mantra gets in the way.

Yours, Sincerely said...

Al Gore knows a cash cow when he sees one. Zooming around the country in his private jet, to preach to the rest of us about global warming is insulting. Sure the environment changes--as it has for millions of years. But Eutychus is right--it's a cash cow concept for those hungry for money, power, or both. Sure, we can do a better job with recycling, etc., but cap and trade is nothing more than a strangle-hold on innovation and personal freedom.

"climate changes"

Tru dat. The summers were longer when I was young.

"I think it important to take care of the environement. Ironically, I think the whole "global warming" now "climate change" mantra gets in the way."

Yes, agreed.

It's interesting, comparing this moral panic with discarded disaster scenarios. Somehow, humans have a deep need to believe that a bad moon is rising. Why?
