School Makes Boy Take American Flag Off Bike

13-year-old Cody Alicea rides with an American flag on the back of his bike. He says he does this to be patriotic and to honor veterans, like his own grandfather, Robert. He's had the flag on his bike for two months but Monday, was told to take it down.
A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property.
Order since rescinded but the fact that it could be made with a straight face to begin with speaks volumes...

Facebook’s Gmail Killer, Project Titan, Is Coming On Monday

Back in February we wrote about Facebook’s secret Project Titan — a web-based email client that we hear is unofficially referred to internally as its “Gmail killer”. Now we’ve heard from sources that this is indeed what’s coming on Monday during Facebook’s special event, alongside personal email addresses for users. More

Amazon selling several child molestation books

Moral myopia. Time to shop- somewhere else...

After suffering a public relations nightmare yesterday, online marketer removed "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure" from its virtual bookstore – but the company continues to sell at least seven pro-molestation titles that are even more offensive.
Amazon is still offering two books written by a Dutch professor and pedophile, and five by an unapologetic pro-"boylove" American, David Riegel, who compares himself to human rights crusader Andrei Sakharov in the introduction to one of his books.
In fact, Amazon devotes an entire web page to Riegel and his work. Riegel, in turn, credits Amazon for keeping his book, "Understanding Loved Boys and Boylovers," available to the public for nearly a decade....

..." believes it is censorship not to sell certain titles because we believe their message is objectionable," the company wrote to critics.

Greaves acknowledged in "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure" that sex between adults and boys can be harmful to the boys.

"This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certain rules for these adults to follow," wrote Phillip Greaves.

Riegel, in contrast, claims boys are almost never harmed by "consensual" sex with men. According to his Amazon web page, Riegel "earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology from a fully accredited state... More

Obama Praises "Toleration" as Indonesian Churches Burn

For those Christians whose experience of Indonesian "toleration" is not limited to childhood memories, Obama’s words are likely to elicit sorrow and pain. According to the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum (FKKJ), religious violence has been on the increase since Indonesian independence, and Christians have been the target of much of that violence. According to an October 26 report at
From the New American
The latest violent incident occurred in Sukoharjo, Central Java, on Oct. 13, when 12 people on motorcycles set fire to a Protestant church, said Theophilus Bella of the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum (FKKJ), which documents sectarian violence in Indonesia. A day before, an attempt to set fire to St. Joseph Catholic church in Klaten, Central Java, was foiled and caused only minor damage, he said in a report made available to The Jakarta Post. On Oct. 17, radical Muslims threatened to attack a Catholic church in Karanganyar, Central Java.
Last month, an unidentified group attacked a Catholic church in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan, it said.
Most of the incidents over the last several years took place in Greater Jakarta and West Java, including attacks and forcible church closures that occurred with little or no intervention from the government, the report said....

Creeping Sharia Slides Over Britain

Mohammed is now the most popular name for baby boys in Britain, according to new data released by the United Kingdom's Office of National Statistics (ONS) -- reflecting the growing influence there of Islam.

The name Mohammed has overtaken Jack, which had topped the list for the past 14 years but has now been relegated to third spot.

The new data (which covers all births in 2009 in England and Wales), is not, of course, politically correct, and therefore it is not surprising that the ONS has resorted to creative accounting to obscure the statistical reality.

‘I Had an Abortion’ Twitter Campaign

But a new campaign on Twitter asks women to say "I had an abortion" and summarize that experience in 140 characters or less. The campaign was started by Steph Herold, a pro-abortion activist who launched the website to honor the murdered abortionist Dr. George Tiller, who killed children through the ninth month of their gestation. Ms. Herold's Twitter name for the "I had an abortion" campaign is "IamDrTiller," and her aim is to destigmatize abortion. One poster said the tweets also were a way to "silence" the men and women of Silent No More. But they will no longer be silent. Nor can the story of any abortion be told in just a few words.

Thankfully there are those speaking out about the pain oaf abortion in far greater numbers.

Kathryn B. drove 600 miles and overcame an almost debilitating attack of nerves to be at the National Memorial for the Unborn in Chattanooga, Tenn., last month to tell the story of the choice she had made 19 years earlier to abort her baby.
"I actually believed the choice was somehow humane," said the Cleveland resident. "Like a lamb to the slaughter, I signed the form."
What followed was self-recrimination and regret, inconsolable grief and unbearable guilt and "a wound that would never heal." (more)

From Zenit:
Bishops of Iraq are appealing to their brothers in France to "stay with us," affirming that prayer and fraternal support are more necessary than ever.

The Iraqi appeal comes in the wake of anti-Christian attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday that closely followed an Oct. 31 massacre that killed 58 in Baghdad's Syrian Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Salvation.

BAGHDAD, Iraq, NOV. 11, 2010 ( Further anti-Christian attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday have closely followed the Oct. 31 massacre that killed 58 in Baghdad's Syrian Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Salvation.

Bombs went off at three Christian homes on Tuesday evening, and mortar bombs exploded Wednesday throughout Christian neighborhoods such as Dora, in southern Baghdad, Aid to the Church in Need reported.

Vatican Radio reported Wednesday that at least six are dead. Some 26 were injured, including a four-month-old baby. Another Church was damaged.

Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly, patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, said that the terrorists "are hunting Christians of all the neighborhoods of Baghdad." more

Poppy-burning Muslim protesters mar Armistice Day commemorations as millions fall silent to remember war dead

Islamic protesters sparked fury today after they burned a model of a poppy and deliberately broke the silence at Armistice Day commemorations in central London.
As millions of Britons fell silent to remember those who have died in war, members of a group called Muslims Against Crusades clashed with police during an 'emergency demonstration' in Kensington, west London....

They held banners which read 'Islam will dominate' and 'Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell'.

Wave of bomb blasts target Christians in Baghdad

" interior ministry source told Reuters that the attacks were a “continuation” of the massacre at Our Lady of Salvation church which killed dozens of worshippers last week.
According to one report, today’s bombings targeted the family of one of the victims of the massacre...."

Continuation? Surely you've been following it in the news. Its all over the...
No of course not. Our journalistic outlets have been ignoring these matters as has our government.
Magister Christianus over at Bedlam and Parnassus has been following and keeping us all posted. Go check it out and keep praying.

“Healthy, Happy and Hot”

But of course the real reason for the teen pregnancy rate going up is we don't have enough sex-ed in the classroom. According to C-Fam:

According to International Planned Parenthood Federation, the brochure called “Healthy, Happy and Hot” has become their most popular publication.
Aimed at young people with HIV, the brochure contains sexually explicit language and promotes casual sex with multiple partners, as well as oral, anal, and homosexual sex.
“Some people like to have aggressive sex,” says the brochure.  “There is no right or wrong way to have sex.”    It encourages young people who might have sex after drinking or using drugs to “plan ahead by bringing condoms.”  Another section suggests readers visit family planning clinics for help in preventing or aborting unplanned pregnancies.
The publication encourages youth to keep their sexual activity secret from their parents, as well as visits to family planning clinics.  “You should find out whether there are any centers near to you where you can go without needing the permission of your parents or guardians.”

Good grief. Next thing you know they'll want to teach this crap from day one...oh, wait...

Mystery Missile Launch- Or Contrail

From CBS:
(CBS)  A mysterious missile launch off the southern California coast was caught by CBS affiliate KCBS's cameras Monday night, and officials are staying tight-lipped over the nature of the projectile.

CBS station KFMB put in calls to the Navy and Air Force Monday night about the striking launch off the coast of Los Angeles, which was easily visible from the coast, but the military has said nothing about the launch.

KFMB showed video of the apparent missile to former U.S. Ambassador to NATO Robert Ellsworth, who is also a former Deputy Secretary of Defense, to get his thoughts.

Scroll down for KFMB video showing the launch.

"It's spectacular… It takes people's breath away," said Ellsworth, calling the projectile, "a big missile".  More

Or maybe not...

Jet contrails from some angles look like missile trails

Or maybe so kinda sorta:

a NOTAM (notice to airmen) posted in the comments over at the Danger Room would seem to indicate that something might have been planned all along...

ACORN Executive Pleads No Contest To Election Fraud Conspiracy

One down....

"ACORN executive Amy Busefink has pleaded "no contest" to conspiracy to commit voter registration fraud in Nevada, the Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting. Sentencing is set for Jan. 10.
Busefink ran the 2010 national voter drive for ACORN's notorious subsidiary, Project Vote, which was President Obama's employer in 1992...."  More here

Jihad and Stoning

Couple of articles on the President's visit to India.

Both mention his non-answer to a young woman's question on Jihad:

"...According to The Hindu newspaper, a student "invited his opinion on jihad during his town hall style meeting at Mumbai's St. Xavier's college."
“The phrase jihad has a lot of meaning within Islam and is subject to a lot of different interpretations, but I will say that first Islam is one of the world's great religions. More than a billion people practise Islam and an overwhelming majority view their obligations to a religion that reaffirms peace, fairness, tolerance. I think all of us recognise that this great religion in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted by violence,” Mr. Obama said.

He saw isolating these “distorted notions” as the challenge before us. He stressed on practising universal principles, irrespective of one's religion or opinion of a religion.

“Whatever may be your religion we can treat each other with respect as per some of the universal principles...."
Over at Sense of Events, they continue with this line of questioning and answers, what the president would/could not:

"...The obvious question is, "What exactly are the 'universal principles' that will require adherents of Islam to act like liberals in love of tolerance and brotherhood regardless of religion? Those are Western principles, and a fairly late development in the West, that mainline Islam has never adopted and simply rejects today.

So here is part one of a three-part series on what is jihad as Islam defines it, not as tolerant, live-and-let live Western politicians imagine it to be. Whatever jihad is, it does not include tolerance. What exactly is jihad and where does it fit into Muslim theology?....

You can go here to read the answers.

Over at American Spectator, they took another tac:

:...If one is to accept President Obama's argument that jihad "has a lot of meanings within Islam and is subject to different interpretations," then one must wonder what Obama thinks about its meaning and interpretation in certain parts of Indonesia. After all, Obama did spend four years of his childhood in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta. As a presidential candidate, Obama made the argument that his time in Indonesia rendered him more qualified on questions of foreign policy ..."

"...So as President Obama proceeds to the country he once called home for the next leg of his South Asian tour, one wonders if anyone will ask him what he thinks of that meaning and interpretation of jihad which sanctions death by stoning against those who commit adultery. To be precise, will anyone ask him his views of the stoning law that was unanimously passed in the Indonesian province of Aceh in September 2009? Some of the other sanctions covered under the law in Aceh are public caning for activities such as non-marital sex, drinking, and gambling. Anyone caught engaging in homosexual behavior is also subject not only to caning but a minimum of eight years in prison.
Aceh's harsh sanctions against homosexuality are noteworthy when one considers what President Obama had to say about Uganda's proposed anti-homosexual laws. ..."

New York to Sydney in just 2hrs 30mins

NASA is planning to build hypersonic jets that will fly through the Earth’s atmosphere and slash flight times around the world to a few hours at most.
The US space agency wants to manufacture a craft that would travel at five times the speed of sound and bring in a new age of aircraft akin to a turbo-charged Concorde.
Travelling at such speed would reduce the flight time from New York to Sydney to around two-and-a-half hours, from the 21 hours it is now.
The project is thought to be aimed at making a reusable aircraft that could fly to Mars but, as with previous space technology, it could have a huge impact upon passenger transport too.

The Value of Marriage

From the AP:

" 1965, when a now famous government report by future senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan described a "tangle of pathology" among blacks that fed a 24 percent black "illegitimacy" rate. The white rate then was 4 percent."

"...The black community's 72 percent rate eclipses that of most other groups: 17 percent of Asians, 29 percent of whites, 53 percent of Hispanics and 66 percent of Native Americans were born to unwed mothers in 2008, the most recent year for which government figures are available. The rate for the overall U.S. population was 41 percent...."

"...Statistics show just what that fullness means. Children of unmarried mothers of any race are more likely to perform poorly in school, go to prison, use drugs, be poor as adults, and have their own children out of wedlock...."

Ah... the fruits of the sexual revolution. Rarely has so much information been packed into a news article. The failure of sex education in the public schools, the failure of a contraceptive societal mindset, the false idea that every family, no matter how defined, is the same, the failure of a welfare state that discourages traditional family, and the lie that marriage doesn't matter, all tied up in one article. Let's pray that the public discourse continues. But of course the article also proves that there are some pretty stupid people discoursing and missing the obvious.
