Egyptian Armed Forces Fire At Christian Monasteries, 19 Injured

(AINA) -- For the second time in as many days, Egyptian armed force stormed the 5th century old St. Bishoy monastery in Wadi el-Natroun, 110 kilometers from Cairo. Live ammunition was fired, wounding two monks and six Coptic monastery workers. Several sources confirmed the army's use of RPG ammunition. Four people have been arrested including three monks and a Coptic lawyer who was at the monastery investigating yesterday's army attack.

Monk Aksios Ava Bishoy told activist Nader Shoukry of Freecopts the armed forces stormed the main entrance gate to the monastery in the morning using five tanks, armored vehicles and a bulldozer to demolish the fence built by the monastery last month to protect themselves and the monastery from the lawlessness which prevailed in Egypt during the January 25 Uprising... Iraqis defy threats to pack massacre church on Christmas

BAGHDAD — Hundreds of Christians packed Baghdad's Our Lady of Salvation church for Christmas on Saturday, defying threats of attacks less than two months after militants massacred worshippers and priests there.

Security was extremely tight, with forces armed with pistols and assault rifles guarding the area and a 10-foot high (three-metre) concrete wall topped with gleaming razor wire surrounding the church.

All cars entering the area were searched, and worshippers were patted down twice before being allowed into the church.

The mood was sombre after an October 31 attack claimed by Al-Qaeda affiliate the Islamic State of Iraq in which gunmen stormed the church, leaving two priests, 44 worshippers and seven security personnel dead.... More

UK terror plot aimed British landmarks, shopping

It appears the focus on more than one front of the terror war has shifted to smaller targets. The purpose of course is to induce widespread panic.

A large-scale terror attack was aimed at British landmarks and public spaces, security officials said Tuesday as more details emerged and police searched the homes of 12 British suspects being held for questioning.

The men — whose ages range from 17 to 28 — were arrested Monday in the largest counterterrorism raid in nearly two years. At least five were of Bangladeshi origin.

U.S. buffets and salad bars 'threatened with poison attacks’

There is probably a joke here as well if it weren't so deadly serious. Interesting thing here is that if credible, and it appears to be so, it would seem to signal a change in tactics. From large scale attacks to more local, small scale, "upsetting the apple cart" kind of attacks to disrupt the economy.

Al Qaeda terrorists are plotting to put deadly poison in the salad bars and buffets of hotels and restaurants, according to U.S. intelligence sources.

They would hide either ricin or cyanide in the food at a number of locations during one weekend to cause panic.

Those who ate the poisoned meals would fall ill and die within days. It takes only tiny quantities of either ricin or cyanide to kill.

Nearly one in four terrorists released from the detention facility at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, resumed terrorist activities against the United States and the number is expected to rise, according to a report to Congress by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence(DNI).

The report, made public Tuesday, stated that out of a total of 598 detainees released as of October, 150 were confirmed or suspected of "reengaging in terrorist or insurgent activities after transfer," the two-page unclassified summary said. More

UK-based Taliban

A Taliban fighter in Dhani-Ghorri in northern Afghanistan last month told the Guardian he lived most of the time in east London, but came to Afghanistan for three months of the year for combat. More here

Obama Praises "Toleration" as Indonesian Churches Burn

The latest violent incident occurred in Sukoharjo, Central Java, on Oct. 13, when 12 people on motorcycles set fire to a Protestant church, said Theophilus Bella of the Jakarta Christian Communication Forum (FKKJ), which documents sectarian violence in Indonesia. A day before, an attempt to set fire to St. Joseph Catholic church in Klaten, Central Java, was foiled and caused only minor damage, he said in a report made available to The Jakarta Post. On Oct. 17, radical Muslims threatened to attack a Catholic church in Karanganyar, Central Java.

Last month, an unidentified group attacked a Catholic church in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan, it said.

Most of the incidents over the last several years took place in Greater Jakarta and West Java, including attacks and forcible church closures that occurred with little or no intervention from the government, the report said....

Vatican Radio reported Wednesday that at least six are dead. Some 26 were injured, including a four-month-old baby. Another Church was damaged.

Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly, patriarch of Babylon of the Chaldeans, said that the terrorists "are hunting Christians of all the neighborhoods of Baghdad." more

Poppy-burning Muslim protesters mar Armistice Day commemorations as millions fall silent to remember war dead

Islamic protesters sparked fury today after they burned a model of a poppy and deliberately broke the silence at Armistice Day commemorations in central London.

As millions of Britons fell silent to remember those who have died in war, members of a group called Muslims Against Crusades clashed with police during an 'emergency demonstration' in Kensington, west London....

They held banners which read 'Islam will dominate' and 'Our dead are in paradise, your dead are in hell'.

Jihad and Stoning

Couple of articles on the President's visit to India.

Both mention his non-answer to a young woman's question on Jihad:

"...According to The Hindu newspaper, a student "invited his opinion on jihad during his town hall style meeting at Mumbai's St. Xavier's college." 

“The phrase jihad has a lot of meaning within Islam and is subject to a lot of different interpretations, but I will say that first Islam is one of the world's great religions. More than a billion people practise Islam and an overwhelming majority view their obligations to a religion that reaffirms peace, fairness, tolerance. I think all of us recognise that this great religion in the hands of a few extremists has been distorted by violence,” Mr. Obama said.

He saw isolating these “distorted notions” as the challenge before us. He stressed on practising universal principles, irrespective of one's religion or opinion of a religion.

“Whatever may be your religion we can treat each other with respect as per some of the universal principles...."  

Over at Sense of Events, they continue with this line of questioning and answers, what the president would/could not:

Sharia Law in America

Under Sharia law non-Muslims are not allowed to proclaim their beliefs to Muslims. Nice to see they have the Dearborn police to help them enforce this.

A legislative manoeuvre is being prepared in Austria that will effectively abolish freedom of expression.  This is the sort of law that would have been familiar to those living under the Soviet yoke.
This measure will consolidate the already unpopular doctrine of political correctness and at the same time it will undermine traditional Western freedoms.  Inevitably this kind of law will spread like a pathogen to the rest of the EU.  The powers that be are in the process of creating a political environment where it will be illegal to question or criticize the policies and beliefs of the rulers.

Christian Filipino migrants forced to convert to Islam

A Filipino nurse with ten years in Saudi Arabia talks about the dramatic situation of Christian workers, forced to embrace Islam just to keep their job. Despite abuses and violence, migrants still choose the Middle East because of the availability of work.

Manila (AsiaNews) – “In my tens in Saudi Arabia, I have witnessed several Catholic or Christian Filipino migrants accept Islam under duress,” said Joselyn Cabrera, a Filipino Catholic nurse working at Riyadh hospital. Because of high unemployment levels in the Philippines, more than ten million Filipinos have left to seek jobs abroad. Every day, about 3,000 leave the country. Recently, a majority has gone to Arab countries—some 600,000 in all, 200,000 in Saudi Arabia alone.
“After some months, employers give you an ultimatum, telling you to become Muslim to keep your job,” she said. “For us, it is hard to make such a choice, but if we don’t, we become the victims of abuse.” (more)

Sharia Law In America-Welcome To Dhimmitude

In a trend that is much more widespread in Canada and the UK, Muslims are beginning to insist upon their own (Sharia) law here in the U.S. This should come as no surprise since for a Muslim the only perfect guidance is based upon the Koran and Mohamed, the basis for Sharia law.

Once again, I must emphasize that not all Muslims agree with or follow Sharia law. Thus there is no conflict with the American culture (what's left of it.) But there are many instances where authorities have caved in to these requests.

In Minnesota, for example, five Muslim employees at the Missions Food tortilla factory were fired for refusing to wear a new company uniform – shirt and pants. They claimed this violated their Islamic beliefs. CAIR has filed an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit against Mission Foods.

In Minneapolis in 2006, a number of Somali cabdrivers refused to carry passengers with alcohol. The Muslim Brotherhood was behind this publicity stunt. The airport’s initial plan was to cave to Sharia law and create Sharia-compliant and Sharia non-compliant cabs. An Islamic “fatwa,” or order was issued by the Muslim American Society in June 2006 and sent to the Metropolitan Airports Commission. The fatwa stated that Islamic law prohibits Muslim cabdrivers from carrying passengers with alcohol “because it involves cooperating in sin according to Islam.”

In May 2007, the Phoenix airport installed foot washing facilities to accommodate Muslim cab drivers; and one month earlier, the Kansas City airport decided to add foot washing basins in restrooms for Muslim cab drivers.

In June 2008, the San Francisco Chronicle published a feature titled: “Islam in America’s Public Schools: Education Or Indoctrination?” The article describes how “soft jihad” has entered our nation’s public schools and kids are being indoctrinated to affirm and accept the teachings of Islam. In May 2008, for example, students at Friendswood Junior High in Houston were required to attend a CAIR-sponsored lecture on Islamic Awareness. The students were taught that there is one God, his name is Allah; they were taught how to pray five times a day and wear Islamic clothing. An Islamic charter school in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota is under investigation for its overtly religious curriculum. It is housed in the Muslim American Society’s building. The Muslim American Society is an offshoot of the radical Muslim Brotherhood. When TV news reporters were sent to the school to interview officials, they were assaulted by these Islamists.

Muslims are waging in America what’s been described as “Islamist Lawfare,” against our system of government. Brooke M. Goldstein with the Legal Project at the Middle East Forum was interviewed in May by reporter Jamie Glazov. According to Goldstein: “One tenet of Sharia law is to punish those who criticize Islam, and to silence speech considered blasphemous against Islam or its Prophet Mohammed. The Islamist movement has two wings – that which operates violently, propagating suicide-homicide bombing and other terrorist activities, and that which operates lawfully, conducting a ‘soft jihad,’ within our court systems, through Sharia banking, within our school systems and through organizations such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Canadian Islamic Congress. Both the violent and the lawful arms of the Islamist movement can and do work apart, but often, their work re-enforces each other's.”

And apparently this last one is alive and well in Seattle, Washington

And last but certainly not least, lets not forget the Obama Administration's appointment of Sharia law cheerleader Obama adviser Dalia Mogahed. She'll even take the act on the road. But Britain may be already lost.
