Pro-Terror Group to Meet in Chicago Suburb

More good news out of Illinois. Apparently they feel comfortable enough to operate in the open now...

Hizb ut-Tahrir, an international movement seeking to re-establish an international Islamic state - or Caliphate - and to indoctrinate Muslims into supporting jihad, wants to step up its recruitment efforts in the United States. On July 19, the group, whose alumni include 9/ 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and suicide bombers, will hold a conference entitled "The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam" in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Oak Lawn, Ill, a Chicago suburb. Please read the correction at the bottom:

This article (News Review, August 5, 2007) states that Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT) wants to set up a caliphate in Britain, that it had allowed comments on its website describing the Glasgow airport and Haymarket bomb attacks as a “welcoming treat for the newly formed Brown cabinet”, and that Mohammed Babar, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed were members of HuT. In fact, HuT’s publications only call for the reestablishment of the caliphate in the Muslim world and we accept that there were no such comments about the bomb attacks on its website. HuT has always denied that Babar, al-Zarqawi and Mohammed were members of HuT.

"Aren't we a tolerant folk?" What a grand inscription for the headstone, eh?

Anonymous- I did read the correction. may I suggest that you read the article that comes before it? Or perhaps the paper on the group by the Nixon Center. The correction doesn't change the fact that the British suicide bombers who attacked Mike’s Place in Tel Aviv in 2003 had Hizb ut-Tahrir contacts, or that shoe-bomber Richard Reid was influenced by HuT preachers or that:

"HuT affiliates describe democracy as “alien”, “diseased” and “corrupt”. Or that in Britain "HuT discouraged participation in the last general election and warns against integration into British society."

That they "only call for the reestablishment of the caliphate in the Muslim world," is, frankly, of little comfort.
